I've been snapping away since I got my first camera -- an Argus 35mm SLR which "fell" off my brother's truck -- in 1977.
I shot exclusively in black and white for many years, and did all my own developing and printing. About 8 years ago I lost my dark room, upon which I switched to digital and color. (Now that I have finally purchased a decent scanner, I have also begun to post some of my favorite old B & W shots here as well.)
My first digital camera was a SONY Mavica with a very limited 640 x 480 resolution. I quickly graduated to a more respectable 3.2 megapixel Olympus 3030-Z, then a 5.2 megapixel Minolta Dimage 7, then am 8 megapixel Minolta A2, and finally got serious when I purchased a Canon EOS 20D. I also now own a Canon EOS 5D and just purchased a Canon EOS 40D.
My favorite subjects are critters of all shapes and sizes. I'm particularly fond of cats and squirrels -- see my "Buddy the Cat" and "Squirrel Land" folders. Lately, I've been focusing on birds now that I have the tools, and a 400mm "L" lens, to get close enough.
