Im not a birder myself and have had zero luck in capturing a good shot of a bird so I can appreciate a great shot like this. Nice detail, good even lighting. However the whitish areas on the (our) right of the bird distracts a bit.

Maybe a different crop to eliminate some of the white areas would help?

Also been out more this summer shooting new-to-me cameras, shooting and developing b&w films and looking for new subjects.

THanks Jacline!

I had a great time meeting the owners of the properties (prefer NOT to trespass), absolutely loved learning to develop b&w film and immensely enjoyed shooting some great older cameras.

it is surprising how most people accept that we shoot on their property....I got a few like that, met them, and oh! so nice people too:)

I am glad you enjoy yourself, Derek:)

Good soft light and sharpness on the blue jay is right to the touch Jacline, perhaps cloning out those bright spots on the right side could help my eyes to stay longer on the bird and I wish those twigs in front of the bird feet are not there.

Cheers......Edwin

Thank you Edwin:)

I could do something about the white on the right, but as for the twigs, I would have to go and saw them off.......:)

Nice image Jacline. The usual technical stuff is well done. I can relate to the problems with branches with the blue jays around here.
