Very nice photo, portraying the orthodox priest during the service. Well captured sun rays added to overall atmosphere of spirituality and mysticism, established by the interaction between the priest's properly enlightened face and the white smoke coming out from the censer. However, the object on the right hand side of the photo (part of the altar, probably) is a slight distraction. In addition, this photo is obviously taken in a small church, with narrow placed objects. In such an environment, an attempt to capture the whole human figure in a scene is associated with some constraints and forced solutions. Fortunately, there is a lot of space around the priest's head and torso, so some cropping could help a lot. My suggestion is: place the priest's face in upper right point of interest and crop out everything to the right from the circle on the wall (including the fragment of the altar and the circle itself), below the priest's hips, to the left from the white smoke and above the priest's head. That way, you could get a suggestive portrait of a spiritual person, instead of an almost documentary shot of a man doing his job. Another remark... This photo does not belong to a "still life" category. Thanks for sharing! Regards, Zoran.

It seems you find it difficult to write conforming critiques, which means you miss out on a vital part of photoSIG's community. A conforming critique has at least 15 words in English. Please read PhotoSIG's Critique Tutorial for ideas.

I just wrote a conforming critique, being much longer than 15 words in English. That means I haven't missed out a vital part of photoSIG's community. Thanks. Me.

Background is a part of an image, a vital one, it seems to me. One should be well acquainted of something, or have an experience of doing something, before he/she comments on a photo. For example, I am not experienced neither in nature photography, nor in fashion photography. Is my opinion valuable, considering the fact that a vast majority of photos submitted here are of a "nature" or a "fashion/nude/portrayal" provenience?
