Photo of the Week for August 16 - 22 from ofofhy/Evan (9,574) on August 27, 2008 9:17:57 PM CDT Please join me in congratulating jd02/Dan , whose photo Star Trails Over Rainier was chosen as the Photo of the Week for August 16 - 22. The jury praised this photo as, "a technically impressive capture of nature's beauty..." with a combination of landscape and star trails that is "difficult to pull off." The lighting of the foreground, with the brilliance of the mountain and stars provides a greater, "than ordinary look at an iconic landmark." Don was also generous in his sharing of the technical details that went into getting this photo from concept to reality. The Photo of the Week was selected by an anonymous jury process involving eight of your photoSIG peers. To be considered for Photo of The Week, a photographer must have submitted 10 conforming critiques within the week of the photo's submission. Individual jury members nominated photos that were submitted between August 16 - 22. These photos were then voted upon by the entire jury in order to select the Photo of the Week. This week, we had nominations from the categories of Weather, Nude, HDR, Landscape, and Emotive. Thanks again to our jury for their efforts.
